Silvern

by Darryl Pogue

About

Darryl based this theme on the concept of “out of the box” by trying to free the sideblocks from the confines of a typical Moodle theme. His theme has a settings page that lets you add a logo, change the text in the welcome box, and change the color of the highlighted tab on the front page. His theme also contains some subtle niceties that you should look for while reviewing his theme.

Features
  • Uses Base as a parent.
  • Includes theme settings page.
  • Uses custom icon set.

Nice theme and it works. Don’t know about all the hacks though.

It’s original, attractive, creative, and displays consistantly across all browsers.

Installation was easy, and all my current content looked great with it. Easily customizable.

Your theme is missing all of the style needed for editing quizzes and hide/show the question bank in quiz edit mode. It is also missing a ton of block styles. But the edit quiz page in particular is problematic.

Quizzes especially were one area that time constraints came to haunt me. I have every intention of continuing to improve the theme (I’ve guaranteed a school that I’ll have a themed and working Moodle 2 for them by September).

Could you mention which blocks in particular were missing styles? Most of them should properly inherit default styling.
